St Louis, MO (September 9, 2022) – A young child has lost their life following a major motor vehicle accident that left several people severely injured in the St. Louis area. Just after 5:30 p.m., on September 6, Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a major collision that occurred on Bellefontaine Road.
Reports provided by trooper D Gillespie indicate that a 2014 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Bellefontaine Road. At the same time, a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling on the northbound side of the same roadway. For reasons unknown, the two vehicles collided head-on just south of Shepley Road. Both vehicles were totaled due to the crash.
A total of seven people were hurt as a result of the crash. The seven victims were identified as 63-year-old Debra Dixon, 46-year-old LaToyia Dixon, 29-year-old Eris Burnett, three juvenile females, ages 16, 10, and three, and a juvenile male, aged 10. All seven victims were transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital by ambulance.
Authorities confirm that the 10-year-old female, who was from St. Louis, Missouri, passed away after arriving at the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation at this time.
