Nashik: The Satana police have arrested a tractor driver on the charge of causing the death of a person due to negligence and injury to 45 others owing to rash driving near Dogheshwar Ghat on the Satana-Dogheshwar road.
The arrested accused has been identified as Aniket Jagdale, a resident of Godegaon, Niphad. On Monday evening, Jagdale was driving the tractor, which was attached to a trolley carrying around 50 people. The youths, who are attached to a private institute in Satana , was returning to the institute when the accident took place. Jagdale was over-speeding and while he tried to take a turn, the trolley overturned and all passengers fell out of the vehicle, the police said. The trolley then rammed a car injuring two people in the vehicle as well. One of the trainees, Nilesh Kannor (23), suffered serious injuries in the accident. He succumbed to the injuries. tnn
