HYDERABAD: Congress leader Feroz Khan’s stepdaughter died in a road accident after the car in which she was travelling rammed into the median and flipped at Shamshabad in the early hours of Monday. The accident occurred when the 21-year-old victim, Tanya Kakde, along with two of her friends was travelling in the car from the RGI Airport to the city.
According to RGI Airport police, Tanya, a beautician, was travelling with her friends – Mirza Ali and Diya. Mirza was at the wheel and hereportedly drove the car rashly.
At 12.05 am on Monday, when they reached MS convention at Satamrai on the NH-44, the vehicle hit the median and overturned. Alerted by passersby, the RGI Airport police rushed to the spot and found three persons in the vehicle (TS-13-EV-5243).
Mirza Ali reportedly drove the car in a rash and negligent manner. Despite the front air bags opening, Mirza and Tanya, who was in the front passenger seat, suffered injuries.
“The sunroof of the car was open. When the vehicle overturned, Tanya suffered a severe head injury. She also sustained a severe injury on her right hand. Tanya was rushed to Osmania General Hospital for treatment, but she was declared brought dead by the doctors,” RGI Airport inspector R Srinivas said. The other two injured were shifted to a corporate hospital in the city.
“Mirza also suffered severe injuries and he is undergoing treatment. Diya suffered minor injuries and she left the hospital after receiving treatment. Mirza was not under the influence of alcohol,” assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Shamshabad, Bhaksar said. Police registered a case under Sections 304-a and 337 of the IPC against Mirza.
