St Louis, MO (August 5, 2022) – A man and woman were hospitalized as a result of a motor vehicle accident that had taken place in St. Louis on Thursday afternoon. At 1:05 p.m., on August 4, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that a vehicle collision occurred on Interstate 55.
Investigations performed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that a 2002 Ford Escape was traveling northbound on Interstate 55. As the vehicle traveled through lane four at the intersection of Butler Hill Road, an unknown vehicle switched lanes from lane three to Lane four and struck the left side of the Ford Escape. The impact of the crash caused the Ford to begin spinning and strike a 2017 Ford Focus.
Both forwards were total due to the vehicle collision.
Two people in the Ford Focus, 26-year-old Timothy Jones and 26-year-old Tanisha Rickmar, both suffered moderate injuries. The two victims were transported by Mehlville Fire Protection District to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for emergency medical care.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
