There is still some crime scene tap left up from Friday night when the cyclist was hit.Witnesses in the area said the crash involved a group of riders who were traveling cross-country.”They told me they were three weeks in and they were from Savannah, Georgia and that they were headed to California. I thought they might’ve been some competitors,” said Gabe Mindieta, who saw the cyclists around town.The group had been spotted around town for a couple of days before they were seen at the scene of that crash on Friday.”It was terrifying to hear what had happened. My heart just dropped, in two days. I just spoke with them, you know,” Mindieta said.On Monday, police told KOCO 5 there was only one victim in the crash, who was the person who died.They also said no one has been arrested and they don’t expect to arrest anyone in the case. Police told KOCO 5 they believe it was an accident, not the fault of the driver.People in the area said they want to know more because they felt like the cyclists were well-marked.”Even in the dark you can see them bright, you know. They’re wearing neon reflection you would be able to see them on a two-way lane,” Mindieta said.Norman police said it’s still an active investigation and we’re working on continuing to bring you the latest details.
