A medical malpractice lawsuit against UC Health filed by a prominent Northern Kentucky businessman was dismissed Friday, according to court documents.

Bill Yung, owner of Columbia Sussex, a Crescent Springs-based hotel chain, filed the lawsuit in 2020. He said he suffered severe hearing loss after receiving two consecutive 25-minute MRIs at UC Heath in July 2019.

In November, UC Health argued the doctor Yung wanted to testify on his behalf was not an expert in the field of MRIs. UC Health filed a motion to exclude his testimony and requested a summary judgment in the case.

On Friday, Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Jody Luebbers granted the motion for summary judgment and dismissed the case stating Yung “is unable to sustain his burden of proof regarding the standard of care.”
