The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that a $6.3 million settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit claiming health damages from a dump fire that burned in Bella Vista for 11 months.

A lawyer told the D-G that the Bella Vista Property Owners Association will pay $4.8 million; Brown’s Tree Service, which bought the property before the fire was discovered, will pay $1 million, and Blue Mountain Storage, from which the BVPOA leased the property for 13 years, will pay $500,000.

An earlier lawsuit against the BPOA resulted in a $3 million payment by an insurance company to cover remediation costs claimed by the state against the BPOA.
